4-year PhD Studentships now available for 2021

Fully-funded PhD studentships are available to study mechanistic links between exposure and adverse outcomes which negatively impact on health. These include cellbased therapy, antibodies, RNA-based treatment (modified RNAs and anti-sense oligonucleotides), drugs (anti-psychotics and epigenetic modifiers); or environmental agents, including air pollution, arsenic, pesticides, and nanofibres (e.g. asbestos). These are linked with disease that ranges from neurodegeneration to cancers.

The MRC Toxicology Unit is a leading International Research Institute within the School of Biological Sciences. The research environment provides state-of-the-art research facilities including microscopy, Cryo-EM, flow cytometry, proteomics, bioinformatics and imaging. Our PhD students receive a broad training in mechanistic, systems-based biology, allowing them to carry out pioneering research which leads to improved health outcomes.
